DOUBTS ABOUT HITLER
SAID TO HAVE CAUSED SUICIDE OF NAZI ADMIRAL. WHY HIMMLER VISITED NORWAY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. June 2. The “Daily Telegraph" says the suicide of the German naval chief in Norway. Admiral Boehm, reported yesterday, occurred at the Grand Hotel in Oslo about a fortnight ago, shortly after the flight of Hess to Scotland. The date is important because it shows that the recent visit of Himmler. the Gestapo chief, to Norway was the result, not the cause of the. suicide. Admiral Boehm's suicide is regarded as a sign that the doubts regarding the integrity of Hitler’s intentions, especially about Russia, which partly inspired Hoss's tlighL arc shared in many high quarters. These doubts, combined in many cases with admiration for the British defence, may leiytl to further defections.
