GOODS FOR AXIS

SOUGHT IN DUTCH INDIES BY JAPAN. DEMANDS TURNED DOWN ‘ FIRMLY. I By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) BATAVIA, June 2. Japan has requested the Netherlands East Indies to supply' her with more raw materials. Rubber, tin, copra, palm-pith and quinine comprise minimum requirements, which greatly exceed what the Netherlands Indies at present are willing to grant. The Dutch policy is to let Japan have her normal requirements for home consumption. The huge supplies of rubber and tin acquired by Japan in Indo-China and Thailand are greatly in excess of her own requirements. The Netherlands Indies are firmly resolved that none of their exports to Japan shall be re-shipped to her Axis partners.
