FLYING CROSS

A.WARD TO NEW ZEALAND AIRMAN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Advice has been received at Air Headquarters that the Distingu’shed Flying Cross has been awarded Acting Flight Lieutenant Cuthbert Raymond. Flight Lieutenant Raymond was born in Waipukurau in 1916, and educated at Christ’s College, where ho took a prominent part in sporting activities, Ho was selected for a short service commission in June. 1939. but at the outbreak of war commenced training at Rongotai and left New Zealand in April. 1940.

He is a son of Mr C. Raymond, Waipukurau.
