Three night raiders were shot down last night, and the destruction of an enemy fighter by anti-aircraft gunfire off the south coast on Friday last is now confirmed. This brings the May total of enemy night bombers destroyed over Britain to 144, which is 57 more than the April record. Altogether 261 German planes were destroyed in May in Britain, Europe or Home waters.
