Authentic reports have been, presented to Congress that only 28 ships carrying war supplies from United States ports have been sunk cn route to Britain since the outbreak of war. The tabulation is not available, but legislators said it was safe to assume that the loss ratio of American goods was relatively small. It was pointed out, however .that these sinkings do no include losses of equipment produced in the United States and sent to Canada for transhipment.
