Formerly Miss Anne Roberts, she was born in Jersey, Channel Islands, in 1848. She came to New Zealand with the Philip Dolbel family at the age of 18 years. After arriving, she married Mr Samuel Parsons, who was engaged in farming near Gisborne till his death more than 60 years ago. Mrs Parsons had since resided in Napier. Miss Card, who has been elected president of the Featherston Home and School Association, has rendered that institution excellent service in forwarding its aims. Miss Card has associated herself with every movement in Featherston that has for its object the progress of the district or the carrying out of patriotic work in connection with the war.
