Measure of German Success in Crete FURY OF FIGHTING UNABATED FURTHER ADJUSTMENT OF BRITISH POSITIONS LONDON, May 30. The Germans are still landing forces in Crete, where the situation is very delicate and serious. Heavy fighting still continues and communications are difficult. Further German forces have reached the island by air and intense dive-bombing attacks are still going on. The British forces again exacted a heavy toll of the enemy. A further adjustment has been made m the British positions. Heraclion (Candia) is still in our hands. The R.A.F. has repeated its raids on an island east of Ore to The Germans, it is pointed out, have gained their success in Crete at the cost of a very heavy sacrifice in planes and highly-trained men.
