OBITUARY
HON. ALGERNON BORTHWICK. The Hon. Algernon Borthwick, a director of Messrs Thomas Borthwick and Sons., died at his home. Woodcote House, Woodcote. Oxfordshire. England. on May 29. Mr P. J. Borthwick, of Masterton, is a son, to whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended in his bereavement. The late Hon. Algernon Borthwick spent many years in New Zealand and Australia, from 1900 to 1914. He had always taken a very great interest in New Zealand, and had played a large part in the running of the firm's business in both countries. His knowledge of New Zealand in later years, which was kept up to date by the many New Zealanders he met in London, had always been amazing to those who met him. His death will be a very great loss to his family, his friends, his business, and to New Zealand. .
