EKETAHUNA SALE DEMAND FOR BREEDING EWES. WEANER STEERS SELL WELL. The Associated Auctioneers report having held a sheep and cattle sale at Eketahuna yesterday, when a large entry of sheep, mostly breeding ewes, and about 350 head of station cattle, most of which were m.s. weaners. were offered. There was a large attendance, including many outside buyers, in spite of the fact that it was a very wet and rough day. The breeding ewes met with quite a strong market at prices showing a slight improvement on recent sales. Weaner P.A. steers met with a good sale, Messrs Dickens Bros, topping the sale at £3 15s. Practically a total clearance was effected at auction, and the following were the main prices:—Cattle: Weaner P.A. steers, a/c. Dickens Bros., £3 15s; a/c. McLennan Estate, £3 13s; a/c. George Estate. £3 12s; a/c. J. Parsonson. £3 12s; a/c. W. C. Rout. £3 10s: a/c. Clee and Price. £3 ss; a/c. J. H. McDonald, £3 ss; a/c. C. Davie, £3 6s; weaner heifers, £1 Bs. £1 16s to £2; liyear P.A. steers, £5 ss, £5 7s to £5 15s; If-year P.A. heifers. £2 16s; fat cows. £6 to £6 18s; springing heifers, £6 10s to £6 17s 6d. Sheep: 4-year ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, 21s 2d; m.a. ewes, r.w. Romney rams, 20s Id; s.m. ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 12s 6d, 14s, 14s 6d. 16s to 16s 6d: cull ewes, do., 6s. 7s Id to 8s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, 19s 6d to-21s Id; fat ewes. 8s 6d; fat b.f. lambs, 20s; b.f. lambs, 16s Id; small do., Bs, 10s 3d to Ils 6d; w.w. lambs, 10s 3d, 10s 6d to 12s; ewe lambs, 14s, 16s to 17s; cull lambs, 4s to 6s.
