LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION

ANNUAL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. BRITISH-AMERICAN CO-OPERA-TION MOVEMENT. The annual meeting of the League of Nations Union was held last night in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, when the speaker for the occasion was Mr A. Leigh Hunt, of Wellington, who spoke on the Brit-ish-American co-operation movement. The president, MTs T. R. Barrer, presided over a fair attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr J. Robertson, M.P.; vicepatrons, Mr T. Jordan, Dr J. A. Cowie; president, Mrs T. R. Barrer; vice-pre-sidents, Archdeacon E. J. Rich, the Revs. McNeur, Kings, Mr Sykes, Miss Tankersley, Mr G. W. I'orice; committee. Messrs W. Clark, Esler, Goudge. J. Hunter, R. I. Wadhams, the Rev 11. Taepa. Mesdames E. M. Engstrom, Nellie Miller, R. Miller, with power to add; secretary, Mrs I. E. Dodds; treasurer, Miss Tankersley; representatives on the Red Cross Society, Mrs Nellie Miller and Miss Tankersley; representative on Patriotic Committee, Miss O. lorns. Mr Hunt’s address was followed with close interest and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
