COLLEGE EX-PUPILS
MANY AMONG CASUALTY LISTS. It was reported at last night's meeting of the Wairarapa College Board of Governors that many ex-pupils (V‘ Wairarapa College or High School had been killed, wounded or posted missing, in the various services overseas. Members stood in silence for a few moments in respect to the memory of Sergeant-Pilot J. Hamill and Pilot Officer A. Haigh, of Greytown. It was stated that Privates A. Golder and T. George, and Company SergeantMajor J. K. Welch were posted missing. Reference was made to Flying Officer A. C. Gawith's exploit.in gaining the D.F.C. Members commented on the fact that his observer. F. Hogg, was also an ex-pupil of the High School. Members of the board offered their sympathy to Mr and Mrs F. C. Daniel! and expressed the hope that they would here good news concerning their son, who had been posted missing.
