THE GREAT LEVANTE

A J. C. WILLIAMSON ATTRACTION. . The answer to “How's Tricks?” the title given to the magical revue which is to be presented at the Aasterton Opera House for one nigh*t only, Saturday, May 31, is that it makes delightful entertainment when presented by such a clever wizard as the Great Levante. For nearly three hours he and his talented company in a breathless non-stop show bewilder and amuse the audience. For about two-thirds of the time Levante himself is dealing out spectacular magic. Old tricks he invests with new life, and new tricks of his own invention prove that the old saying, “seeing is believing,” cannot be relied upon. Miracles follow each other in such quick succession that there is nd time for puzzling them out, and all the time the eye is feasted with rich and unusual scenery. Amongst the many things produced, vanished, or transposed by Levante are pigeons, canaries, ducks, and rabbits, and his easy manipulation of eggs by the dozen would qualify him for a seat on any egg marketing board. One of his most popular tricks is the production of quantities of drinks of all kinds from his mystic kettle. Amongst the outstanding vaudeville turns in the second half of tho programme is a clever shadowgraph performance by Melba. Miss Esme Levante and her Oriental maidens give a picturesque dance, while Rex and Bessie fairly stagger the audience with their acrobatic dancing. Protea's kaleidoscope tableaux is something quite novel. The box plans for this unique entertainment arc now open at the shop of Messrs Steele and Bull. Intending patrons arc advised to book their seats.
