BULBS IN POTS

EXERCISE GREAT CARE. Bulbs potted up in soil compost for early flowering are not so quickly affected by cultural errors as are those in undrained bowls. Nevertheless, it will pay the grower to exercise great care with them, for it is only through careful attention to detail from the earliest stages onward that really firstclass results are obtained. At the moment of writing, the majority are still in the plunge bed. Only the very earliest batches have been removed. The other should follow suit as top growth reaches about one inch in height. The ideal place for them for a week or two is the cold frame, where they should be shaded until such time as the shoots have assumed their normal healthy green colouring.
