HOOD IN WELLINGTON
H.M.S. Hood, in company with H.M.S. Repulse and H.M.S. Adelaide, arrived at Wellington from Sydney on Friday. April 25. 1924, the Hood being berthed at the then new Pipitea Wharf. Al that time the Hood was the largest vessel which had ever entered Wellington harbour or berthed at a New Zealand wharf. The personnel of the Hood included the present High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand. Sir Harry Batterbee, who was aboard as representative of the Colonial Office.
