HERD IMPROVEMENT

RETURNS FOR WAIRARAPA DISTRICT. The Wellington-Hawke’s Bay Herd Improvement Association reports having tested 36,133 cows in April and the average cow produced 4711 b milk of 5.4 average test yielding 25.481 b butterfat. The highest group in the association was that of Shannon Group, in which 486 cows averaged 28.81 b butterfat. The highest herd in the association was one of 10 cows which averaged 45.91 b fat and the highest cow in the association produced 781 b. butterfat for the 30 day period.
