An official estimate that the total of Australian casualties in Greece, including sick and wounded, was 3983. has been received by the Minister for the Army (Mi- Spender)! The Minister said that 423 of the wounded were in hospital in Egypt. Palestine and Crete. Thus, on the present estimate, 3560 Australians, killed, missing or prisoners of war, were in Greece. Mr Spender stated recently that the total number of Australian troops engaged in the Greek campaign was 16,000. The Australian force was comprised of the Sixth Australian Division and certain corps troops.
