Shepherd (Featherston) has been our commissioner since July 1. 1936. His interest has been great and the Boy Scout movement has benefitted by it. I certainly attribute a great deal of the success of the movement to Mr Shepherd.” said Mr Pearce. His resignation would be received with regret. It was appreciated that he was a particularly busy man but his resignation did not mean a reduction in his interest in the movement. Mr Pearce extended a warm welcome to Mr Barton. In reply. Mr Shepherd expressed appreciation of the assistance he had re-
