Sale of Stale Milk. For having sold milk not up to standard, James Feeley, dairyman. Miramar, was fined £7 with costs 13s. and analyst's fee 10s Gd by Mr Luxford. S.M.. in the Magistrates' Court. Wellington, yesterday. The milk inspector, Mr F. W. Rawlinson, gave evidence that milk bought, from defendant’s dairy on March 13 proved to be stale.

R.S.A. Conference. Next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association will bo held in Wellington. Most of the three days will be occupied with consideration of the 130 remits that have been forwarded to the conference. and there will bo no social events connected with the conference as has been the case on most previous occasions. On the morning of the second day the delegates and officers will march to the Wellington Citizens’ War Memorial and lay a wreath on it. More than 100 delegates and officers are expected to attend the conference, and over 70 of the 92 branches will be represented. The main subjects for discussion will be war pensions, defence and the re-establishment of returned soldiers.

Fifth Frost in Succession. For the fifth occasion in succession this week, Masterton experienced a frost, when 8.7 degrees were registered this morning. Change in Recount. Only one change has taken place in the personnel of the new Auckland city council as a result' of Ihe completion of the official count ol' voles recorded at the municipal election. The declaration of the poll was made by the city returning officer, and this revealed that Mr W. B. L. Power, who was placed with the 21 members required on the figures of the provisional count, loses his place on the council and is replaced by Mr M. J. Moodabe. As both were nominees of the Citizens and Ratepayers’ Association, that organisation lias still 20 representatives on the council. Mrs Dreaver is the only Labour member.
