NAZI FOUL TACTICS

NEW ZEALAND PREMIER’S COMMENT. (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON. May 22. The New Zealand Premier (Mr Fraser), commenting in Cairo on a report that the Germans were using New Zealand uniforms, said: “It will only serve to infuriate our troops and encourage them to fight to the last breath to exterminate the invaders.” It is learned that a Greek fishing boat picked up German airmen shot down in Crete on May 16. The Germans were most surprised when they were taken prisoner, saying they were under the impression that all Greeks were their friends. The British United Press Cairo correspondent says Britons who have ar-

rived from Crete declare that German planes raiding Crete before the parachutist attack outnumbered the R.A.F. defenders by twenty to one. The Germans adopted their usual tactics of raiding aerodromes, but the British pilots fought heroically.
