EKETAHUNA

R.S.A. BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) Mr A. E. Fordyce presided over an attendance of 30 members at the annual meeting of the Eketahuna R.S.A.. An apology for absence was received from Col. A. H. Herbert. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. Balances disclosed were:—General Fund Account, £33 13s; Relief Funds. £l3l 8s Bd. The election of officers resulted:— President, Colonel A. H. Herbert; vicepresident. Mr A. B. Fordyce; treasurer, Mr W. Hornblow; auditor, Mr B. McAlister; executive committee, Messrs S. Daniel, M. Morris, T. Hancock, A. Golder, M. Tredray, C. Cooper, L. Russell, J. McLaughlin, W. Pryde, A. Chambers, L. Christie, W.Clarkson. Il was decided to send letters of thanks to those persons who had decorated the hall for the Anzac Day service and to record in the minutes the appreciation of the association of the assistance given by all ladies and other helpers during the past year. Considerable discussion ensued concerning the balance sheet of the Wellington War Relief Association, and it was decided to enter a protest, regarding the apparent high cost of running the association. The delegate to the annual conference was instructed to vote for the retention of the present name of the association. It was decided to communicate with headquarters asking it to endeavour, if it could, to expediate the issue of casually lists from overseas. Votes of thanks were accorded to the Press and to the secretary. Personal. Mr and Mrs W. J. Henderson, Woodville, are the guests of the latter's parents. Mr and Mrs S. J. O'Regan. Mr and Mrs A. Hardingham and family are visiting Hawera. Miss S. Walton, of New Plymouth Girls’ High School, is home for the school vacation. Mr and Mrs D. Keene have returned from a motor tour of the North Island. Mr R. N. Roberts, exchange clerk at the local Post Office, was recently transferred to the Post Office at Waiouru Military Camp. His place has been taken by Mr A. G. Childs, from Hinds, South Island. Sergeant W. D. Ansell is home on leave ‘from Trentham Military Camp. Mr W. R. Mason, Papakura Military Camp Post Office, is spending his leave with Mr and Mrs H. Mason, Bengston Street. Mrs R. J. Daniel, Atca, is an inmate of the Pahiaiua Public Hospital. Mr R. Halford has returned from a holiday spent in Palmerston North. Mr C. Ross and Miss F. Ross, Greytown. are guests at Liverpool House. Mr W. Reid, Newman, is a patient in the Masterton Hospital. Mr IVT. Carter Senr., is visiting Te Awamutu.
