COSY THEATRE
“WIZARD OF OZ.” The final screening of the "Wizard of Oz,” an all-colour fantasy with its wonderful settings and haunting melodies, takes place this evening at the Cosy Theatre. "FRONTIER TOWN.” Filled with Ficldsian whimsicalities, Universal’s "The Bank Dick,” will be shown at the Cosy Theatre tomorrow. For years the star, W. C. Fields, has been, acclaimed one of the greatest comedians on the American stage or screen. The honour has never been disputed, but if any proof were needed, it is here in his latest picture. Fields appears as a special guard in a bank, a role he has long wanted to play. Fields is starred solo —which means he has the bulk of the comedy business to carry. Aiding and a’oetting Fields in "The Bank Dick” is a cast which includes Una Merkel, Richard Purcell, Shernp Howard, Franklin Pangborn, Grady Sutton, Jessie Ralph, Cora Witherspoon, Dave Oliver, and Harlan Briggs. The associate feature- is a thrilling Western musical romance, “Frontier Town,” featuring the great singing slar, Tex Ritter, with Ann Rivers. Snub Pollard and a grand cast. Beautiful outdoor settings and thrilling adventures add further enjoyment to the programme.
