ESPERANTO
MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club was held last evening. Mr W. J. Beresford presiding over a good, attendance of members. A conversational dialogue, entitled "Malnovaj Amikoj Renkontas" (Old Friends Meet) and written in Esperanto by the secretary, was presented by Mr E. J. Esler and Mr Beresford. The item enabled members to practise advanced conversation in the international language. Perusal and translation of the editorial of the last number of the New Zealand all-Esperanto gazette. "La Interna Idco." followed with the object of practising reading aloud translating, extending the members' knowledge of the vocabulary and analysing certain grammatical points. Excellent progress was made. The concluding item was a talk in Esperanto by the secretary. Mr W. H. King, who delivered the first of a series of lecturettes on "La Vivo de Soldato" (The Life of a Soldier) and replied to questions.
