CHURCH SERVICES

The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow at 8 a.m., and at Taueru at 9.45 a.m. ' Archdeacon Rich will be the preacher at St. Matthew’s Church at 11 a.m.. and the Rev. 11. Taepa at 7 p.m. Archdeacon Rich will conduct the afternoon services at Rangitumau and Kopuaranga, and the evening service at Kuripuni. The service of the Masterton Baptist Fellowship tomorrow morning in the Y.M.C.A. will be conducted by the Rev. A. Findlay, of the Palmerston North Baptist Church. The services at the Masterton Presbyterian Church and at Matahiwi tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie.

The services at the Methodist Church tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. H. S. Kings. The morning subject will be "The Spring That Never Fails.” The evening service will be a sacramental one, and the subject will bo: "Why did Jesus choose fishermen?” Miss R. G. Kings will bo the soloist at the evening service. There will be a service at Mt. Bruce at 2 p.m., conducted by Mr Kings. The choir will render a choral service at the hospital at 4 p.m. At Kuripuni the evening service will be conducted by Rev. G. Knowles Smith. Mr Smith will be remembered by many as the missioner of the Methodist Wellington mission, and also as the president of the Primitive Methodist Conference.

The meetings at the Salvation Army Citadel on Sunday will take the form of a farewell to Major and Mrs Neeve. who have worked in Masterton for the past six months. At the evening service fitting reference will be made to Messrs Claude and Arthur Adderson, who were killed in action recently. Adjutant Edith Christopher will speak at all the meetings. On Thursday, at 7.30 p.m., a welcome will be tendered to Major and Mrs Ransom, of Petone, who are to succeed Major and Mrs Neeve.
