PULLING A LONG BOW
An American and an Australian sailor bumped into each other at some Far Eastern port, and the discussion dealt with the relative sizes of British and American battleships. "Our battleships are so big,” said the American, "that the captain has to take a cab when he goes round inspecting the decks.” "That's nothing," retorted the Australian. “Our ships are so big that the chief cook has to use a submarine in the slew to see if the spuds at the bottom are cooked.”
