OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

BOROUGH ELECTION (To the Editor.) Sir, —No elector in the borough of Masterton will be diverted, for one moment. by the ill-timed ridicule of "Ichabod.” It seems to be a pity that instead of writing a letter entitled “Election Humour’’ your correspondent did not endeavour to solicit the assistance of some competent authority, to refute the startling allegations made on the evening in question. “Ichabod” would like to do this, but cannot. Neither will he be able 1o sidetrack the electors of Masterton who will go to the poll on Saturday determined to elect men with the courage to publicly express their opinion. “Ichabod" is a Biblical word meaning “The glory has departed." that radiance will be restored again tomorrow by the electors of Masterton, who, at last, have awakened to the perils of dictatorship on their own doorstep.—Yours, etc., CYRIL RAY GOUDGE. Masterton. May 16. As the election takes place tomorrow, this correspondence is closed. — Ed.
