CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW A SPLENDID DISPLAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the Parish Hall yesterday the annual Chrysanthemum Show was held under the auspices of the local Garden Circle. Some very fine blooms were displayed, and the decorative section was especially good. The judging was carried out by Mrs H. W. Blundell and Miss M. C. Martin, who made the following awards:—Cut blooms: White, Mrs Boyd 1; yellow, Mrs Watson 1, Mrs Tyler 2; pink, Mrs Watson 1, Mrs Boyd 2, Mrs Herrick h.c.; red, Mrs Watson 1; bronze, Mrs L. Chapman 1. Mrs Boyd 2; double spray, Mrs Boyd 1 and 2; single, Mrs Dale 2; natural spray, Mrs Yates 1, Mrs Hardinge 2; natural spray, single, Mrs Watson 1 Mrs Williamson 2; pompom, Mrs Cotter 1; collection of six, Mrs Watson 1, Mrs Hardinge 2, Mrs Williamson h.c.; collection of three, Mrs Herrick 1, Mrs Hardinge and Mrs Rowlands (equal) 2; points prize. Mrs Watson. Decorative section: Bowl. Mrs Watson 1. Mrs Boyd 2; Victorian posy, Mrs Chapman I; vase, Mrs Hardinge 1, Mrs Knell 2; berries, Mrs Hardinge 1, Mrs Boyd 2; shouldef* posy, Mrs Watson 1, Mrs Tyler 2; decorated basket. Mrs Knell 1, Mrs Watson 2; bowl, Mrs Knell 1. Mrs Watson 2; points prize, Mrs Watson. Novice section: Bowl, Mrs Knell 1, Mrs Dale 2: hand posy, Mrs Hamilton 1. Mrs Robson 2; vase, Mrs Williamson 1, Mrs Chapman 2; posy in sand, Mrs Williamson 1, Mrs Dale 2; points prize, Mrs Williamson; special prize for sand posy, Mrs Williamson. Red Cross Society Examinations. The following candidates have gained the Society’s medallion in connection with the first aid examinations:— Mrs Johns. Mrs Findlay, Miss O. Madsen and Miss E. Alpe, all honours. Intermediate: S. Caseley, S. Ross, P. Trounce, N. Prussing, T. Killip. Elementary: M. Lawson (honours), B. Howatt, E. Grant, and W. Fuller.
