Representing one of the largest and most realistic sets built for the screen in recent months were the docks, buildings and waterfront streets erected at Universal studios for the dramatic film. "San Francisco Docks.” the associate feature. Complete in every detail, the settings provided colourful and authentic backgrounds for the picture, which features Burgess Meredith. Irone Hervey. Barry Fitzgerald. Raymond Walburn. Esther Ralston. Robert Armstrong and Lewis Howard. Among lhe interior sets utilised in the production was a replica of an old waterfront saloon and seamen’s haven modelled after prints depicting these colourful rendezvous on San Fran-, ciscc.’s famous Barbary Coast.
