May 15. “Whatever is the outcome of Ihe war, the world as we knew it is gone forever.” said the Australian Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, at a Press conference. •‘There will never again be in our lifetime extreme riches and J poverty. Taxation has already eliminated great incomes.” I Mr Menzies said he thought the war I would probably have an enormous effect on the status of women after lhe war. because women were fighting to a greater extent titan anyone had conceived possible.
