BRAWL AT TE ORE ORE
MAORI BEFORE MASTERTON COURT. / BOUND OVER TO KEEP PEACE. I I John Himona, a native, of Te Orc Ore, appeared In the Magistrate’s [Court, Masterton, this morning on a charge of having been drunk at Te Orc Orc on May 14. Messrs L. J. Taylor and C. E. Grey were on the Bench. Himona had two eyes blackened and a cut over his eye which required the insertion of throe stitches. On the drunkenness charge Himona entered a plea of guilty and voluntarily took out a prohibition order. He was convicted and ordered to pay medical and other expenses. On information laid by Albert Himona, defendant was charged with having assaulted Albert. Himona. Himona pleaded guilty and was bound over to keep the peace for twelve months. Constable R. L. Hollis stated that he .went to Mr Albert Himona’s residence on the Bideford road last night. Defendant wa.s on the verandah. Ills face was severely injured. There were bloodstains on the verandah and in the passage. The place was in an uproar. John Himona threatened to throw everyone out. He said he was the “big chief.’’
