GOLD MINING
COMPANY RETURNS. The Argo dredge returned 44 ounces for 128 hours from 11,500 yards for the week ended May 10. Alexander Mines Limited report the following gold returns for March and April:— From Battery: 111 tons of ore crushed for 550 z melted gold. From Cyanide: 38oz bullion from 181.69 tons of sands. Total estimated value. £722. In addition 2.80 tons of concentrates was saved for 14.3090 z valued at £ll4. Gold has been taken at £8 an ounce. Okarito Five Mile Beach Dredging Co. reports a washup for the week ended May 9 of 28oz for 120 hours.
