LADY GALWAY GUILD
LOCAL BRANCH ACTIVITIES. JUMPERS AND CARDIGANS WANTED. There has been some speculation as to whether any of the clothing sent to Great Britain for the alleviation of distress amongst the people in the war stricken areas reaches its destination. That considerable quantities do arrive is manifest from information received from various quarters, and a statement in the “Ayr Advertiser” of February 13, 1941, bears witness to the extreme gratitude with which gifts of clothing from the people of New Zealand are received. It was recently announced from the Guild headquarters that a further 105 cases of clothing had been despatched from New Zealand. What the local branch of the Guild is particularly anxious to receive at the moment is gifts of woollen jumpers and cardigans for children of the ages of from three to seven years.
