EGMONT MEETING WIN FOR AURORA’S STAR. STEEPLES TO AUSSIE RA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAWERA, May 10. Outsiders had a remarkable innings on the concluding day of the Egmont Racing Club’s winter meeting, winning four of the seven races at odds ranging from a little more than a score to a little less than a century. In spite of these body blows to investors, the totalisator figures for the day were down only £299 on last year’s second day turnover of £23.572, and the aggregate for the meeting of £39,754 10s compared most favourably with the sum of £41,744 handled last year. Except for a shower before the second race, the’weather was fine and pleasant, and the track was in good winter condition.
