DAMAGING RAIDS

MADE BY ROYAL AIR FORCE ENEMY PLANES DESTROYED IN SICILY. FIRES CAUSED IN TRIPOLI. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, May 11. The R.A.F. yesterday made a surprise raid on Catania and another aerodrome in Sicily. Clusters of aircraft were attacked at both aerodromes and officers and men machine-gunned. Much damage was done. Other planes were set cn fire. A raid was also made on Tripoli, where direct hits were made on the mole and one large explosion and several fires were caused. All the British pianos returned safely.
