Wellington Quota Short. More than £30.000 must be raised by Wednesday if the Wellington quota of £lOO.OOO in the All-Purposes Patriotic Appeal is to be reached, according to a statement by Mr J. Abel. Dominion organiser of the appeal, on Saturday. The Wellington provincial figures are made up as follows from cash received, though it is known that there is more money not yet paid in to the provincial treasurer: —Metropolitan. £60.000; Wairarapa. £24.000: Palmerston North, £17.000; London Appeal Fund. £17.000: Wanganui, £10.000; Feilding, £8.000: provincial zones, £lO 000. Total, £146 000.

Navy League Membership. At the meeting of the executive of the Navy League organisation in Wanganui, it was stated that the total membership of the league in the district was about 850. including approximately 700 school pupils. Soldier Struck by Tram. A soldier at Trentham camp. Sergeant .Tames A. Stephens, received head injuries and concussion when he was knocked down by a tram in Lambton Quay, Wellington, near the Bank of New South Wales at' 7.40 p.m. on Saturday. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance and his condition last night was reported as satisfactory.
