SET BY NEW ZEALAND DIVISION IN CAMPAIGN IN GREECE MESSAGE FROM SIR H. M. WILSON TO SIR A. RUSSELL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The following telegram has been received by Sir Andrew Russell from General Sir H. Maitland Wilson: “In the recent campaign in Greece, in a severe ordeal against heavy odds, especially in the air, the New Zealand Division acquitted itself magnificently, carrying out difficult and complicated withdrawals and inflicting severe losses on the enemy infantry and tanks. Its spirit and fighting qualities are of the highest order, and right up to the traditions of the New Zealand Division in which I had the honour to serve on your staff.” Sir Andrew Russell has suitably replied. Sir H. M. Wilson was General Staff Officer. Grade 1, of the New Zealand Division in 1917-18, and Sir A. Russel was General Officer Commanding.
