METHODIST CHURCH
LADIES’ GUILD MEETING. There was a large attendance of members at the monthly social meeting of the Masterton Methodist Ladies' Guild held on Wednesday afternoon at the residence of Mrs G. G. Hancox, College House. A welcome was extended to those present by the president, Mrs Hancox. After the National Anthem had been sung a short devotional period was conducted by the Rev. H. S. Kings. The Happy Thought for the month was supplied by Mrs W. Jones. During the afternoon pianoforte solos and songs were rendered by Miss Joan Wilton and Mrs-N. H. Prior, Mrs G. F. Whitlock acting as accompaniste. Two amusing competitions were held and the prize for word building was won by Miss V. Jackson. The bring and buy effort proved most successful. Mesdames Daniell. Hendry and Madsen being in charge of the stall. A most enjoyable afternoon tea was served by the tea hostesses, Mesdames Sleeman and Daysh. A’ hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the hostess, Mrs Hancox, and to all the ladies who had in any way helped towards the success of the afternoon.
