“ON THEIR TAILS”
LORD WOOLTON WARNS FOOD GAMBLERS. CO-OPERATION OF WOMEN SOUGHT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. May 8. The Minister of Food, Lord Woolton, in a speech, warned food gamblers that he is on their tails and intends to get to closer quarters with the '5 per cent, of the population which is not doing its best to observe the regulations, thinking themselves bright and clever. He had received thousands of letters about these cheats. He wished the women of Britain would band together and refuse to deal with them. The women could not expect the Government to do everything and must work through the churches and other organisations. “I am watching these people." be said. “This is their final warning."
