Direct Hits on Two Ships GERMAN AIR RAID ON SUEZ CANAL ZONE SOME DAMAGE REPORTED LONDON, ALty S. A successful attack on an enemy convoy is reported in the Mediterranean. Direct hits were scored on two merchant ships. Smoke poured out from one vessel and both were listing. An Italian aircraft was shot down into the sea. . In Libya heavy and successful raids have been carried out on enemy objectives. According to a Cairo communique, at Tobruk and Solium British patrols were again active. The Egyptian Minister of the Interior states that enemy aircraft last night raided the Suez Canal zone for two hours. There was some damage to roads and telegraphs, but theie were no casualties. Alexandria had two alerts when planes passed overhead.
