MOST SECTIONS OVER-SUPPLIED. EASING IN PRICES RESULTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 7. At today’s Addington stock market most sections were over-supplied. There was a moderate easing in prices for fat sheep, and a sharp one for fat cattle. Store sheep: About 4500 head were forward. Ready sales resulted for best lambs (up to 17s 3d), for wethers and also for young ewes. Old ewes, however, particularly coarse wools, were down by 2s a head. Best Romney twotooths made to 25s 9d and sound mouthed to 15s Cd. Fat sheep: About 5500 head were penned in this section, including numerous southern ewes. Medium-weight prime ewes and wethers and light ewes showed little change in values, but both heavy wethers and heavy ewes were down, the former by up to 2s 6d a head. Light, plain wethers were also easier. Fat lambs: Eleven hundred were I penned. The entry was largely taken by the export trade at the recent slight advance in schedule rates for export. Fat cattle: A total of 674 head was penned. Following on the recent averages of 625 head, the market was glut- ■ ted. Heavy steers were down by 20s to < 30s a head and all other classes by f about 20s. The market has been easing for some weeks under the pressure o£; large entries, and today best beef was) down to about 34s to 36s a 1001 b. for good and from 32s to 33s 6d a 1001 b. for medium. Rough lines were down to 24s a 1001 b. Very few steers today exceeded £l5, prime lines ranging from £l3 to £l4 10s, and medium £ll to £l3. An army of cull cows sold at down to £3 10s a head. Fat pigs: Porkers eased by about 4s a head and baconers were a shade easier, Porkers made £1 14s 6d to £2 19s. 6d. an average price a lb. of OJd to 7.1 d. and baconers £2 17s 6d to £4 16s 6d. an average price a lb. of 6]d to 6Jd.
