FALSE INFORMATION GIVEN
CARRINGTON RESIDENT BEFORE COURT. FINE OF £5 IMPOSED. Hubert L. Quinn, of Carrington, was charged in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning with having supplied false and misleading information to a police officer. Constable F. L. Diggle. Mi' H. P. Lowry. S.M.. was on flic Bench. The defendant was fined £5 and 10s costs. Senior-Sergeant G. A. Doggett Haled that Constable Diggle had found Quinn sitting in a car in Chapel Street, under the influence of liquor. The ignition key had been removed, and Quinn denied ownership of the car, stating that it belonged to a friend. Investigation had proved that the car had been registered in Wellington in Quinn's name...
