DEATHS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. (Received This Day. 9.55 a.m.) SYDNEY. This Day. The Sudden death was announced yesterday of a former leading Rugby Union footballer. Gordon Shaw. Manager of the Waratahs in 1927-1928 on the British and French tour and also manager for the New Zealand tour of 1936. He played centre-three-quarter for New South Wales in 1908 and was highly popular with officials and players alike. He was 55 years of age. The death also occurred on Monday of Chris McKivat. who was regarded as an outstanding half-back in either Rugbv Union or I,eague code. He visited England with the Rugby Union team in 1908.
