BRIDGE AFTERNOON
MRS ALDRED FAREWELLED. A most enjoyable bridge afternoon was held last week at the residence of Mrs A. Weller, Bunny Street, Masterton. The occasion was to bid farewell to a resident of the town, Mrs Aldred. who is leaving shortly to take up her residence in the north. Eulogistic reference was made to the kind and willing assistance Airs Aidred had given to various institutions in Masterton, and she was made the recipient of a handsome present from her many lady friends. Mrs Aldred, who was taken entirely by surprise, thanked her friends for their kind sentiments, and stated that she would retain many pleasant memories of her happy days in Masterton. The bridge tourney was. won by the guest of the afternoon. Among those present were Mesdames A. Weller, Polson. Betteridge, F. H. Dunderdale, R. Hatch, J. Coleman. McMaster, G. Williams, Marchbanks. Donnelly, Jaspers, Wilkinson, Morris, and Aldred, and Miss A. Perry. i
