INVASION OF TROOPS

THREE THOUSAND ARRIVE IN MASTERTON CENTRAL DISTRICT FIELD MANOEUVRES. Y.M.C.A. TAKING ACTIVE PART. About three thousand troops engaged in the Central District field manoeuvres arrived in Masterton this afternoon. Advance units were in Masterton this morning to complete local arrangements. The Y.M.C.A. is in charge of the canteens. Six have been set up in the Wangaehu Valley and others will be stationed at the Y.M.C.A. and the Memorial Park. Army headquarters have been set up at the Masterton Drill Hall and the Opera House. The main party left Palmerston North by motor transport at. six o’clock this morning. The First Hawke's Bay Regiment is stationed at the Solway Showgrounds and other troops have their quarters'at the Memorial Park, and in lhe Wangaehu Valley.
