Successful British Counter-Attack NAZI PREPARATIONS FOR NEW ASSAULT BROKEN UP RISING TOTAL OF PRISONERS TAKEN BY GARRISON LOX DOX, May 5. The Tobruk garrison followed up the failure of the enemy s latest penetration of the cuter defences by counter-attacking. Heavy casualties were inflicted on the enemy and the British troops succeeded in breaking up preparations being made for a renewal of the enemy attack. A new British defence line has been built. A correspondent in the Western Desert states that the number of prisoners taken at Tobruk numbers so far about 3,000. It is stated in Cairo that a number of the prisoners have already been shipped away.
