ROYAL SOCIETY FELLOWS

| TWO AUSTRALIAN SCIENTISTS. The coveted honour of Fellowship of the Royal Society has been conferred upon two distinguished Australians, bringing the total number of Australian holders to 11. This rare honour, which is regarded as one of the greatest rewards for scientific research, has been conferred upon Sir David Rivett, chief executive officer of the Australian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and Dr. John Eccles. Director of the Kanematsu Memorial Institute of Pathology at Sydney University. Doth Dr. Ecelcs and Sir David Rivett are graduates of the University of Melbourne: of the 11 Australian Fellows of the Royal Society, nine are graduates or professors of Melbourne Uni- i versity.
