KITCHEN TEA

MISS RUDD ENTERTAINED. Mesdames A. Carstens and F. J. Traynor were hostesses at a kitchen tea afternoon held at Mrs Carsten's residence, Essex Street, Masterton, yesterday, in honour of Miss I. Rudd, whose marriage will take place shortly. Miss Rudd will be taking up her residence in Palmerston North. There were many guests present. Miss Jean Douglas gave several recitations, Mrs C. W. Kerry sang and Mrs Miller Hope played pianoforte items. All performances were well received. Competitions were won by Mesdames M. M. Simpson and Miller Hope. Miss Rudd after opening the many parcels returned thanks. She was accorded musical honours. Mrs Clifford Chapman, Casel Street, gave a pantry evening for Miss Rudd recently at which there were many guests present. Miss Rudd has also been given other evenings.
