CHURCH SERVICES

The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Archdeacon E. J. Rich 'will preach both morning and evening, and at Taueru in the afternoon. The Rev. V. W. Joblin will conduct the Kuripuni service. The Rev. P. F. Lanyon, the New Zealand secretary to the Baptist Union and Missionary Society, is the preacher at the Baptist Fellowship Service to bo held, in the Y.M.C.A. tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock. Mr Lanyon will also conduct the infant dedication and communion service, and children not attending any oilier Sunday school are cordially invited to the Sunday School at 10 a.m. At the Salvation Army meetings tomorrow. prominence Will be given to the significance and romance of the Bible. Adjutant Edith Christopher will conduct all meetings. In the Lansdowne parish, services tomorrow will be held at Lansdowne. Rangitumau and Kopuaranga, by the Rev. D. McNeur. A commission from the Maintenance of the Ministry Committee is visiting the Wairarapa, and will meet office-bearers and men in Knox Hall tonight, at 7.30 o'clock. The deputation consists of the Rev. T. W. Armour, of Christchurch, and Mr J. B. McKinney, of Auckland. Mr Armour will conduct a special service in Eketahuna at C. 45 p.m. on Sunday. The morning service at Knox Church tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. T. W. Armour, of Christchurch. The evening services at Knox and the services at Matahiwi and Solway will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie. The Mas ter ton Methodist Church will celebrate ils Sfith anniversary tomorrow. The work of the Methodist Church was commenced by Mr H. Jones in 1855. first with a Sunday school which was held in his own home. In 1878 the first Methodist Church was built at a cost of £6BO, of which £5OO was raised at the time. The church was enlarged in 1894. The Sunday school was built in 1882. at a cost of £250, being later enlarged and Bible class rooms added. The history of Methodism in the Wairarapa is one of interest and importance. At the church, anniversary services tomorrow, the Rev. J. Ainsley Daglish. of Carterton. will conduct the morning service, when the junior choir, under the direction of Miss Ivie Donald, will render special' music, and an outstanding feature of the music will be a boys' quintette. The evening service will be conducted by the Rev. 11. S. Kings, whose subject will ■be “The Church in the World." There will be an afternoon service at Wangaehu al 2.30. Mr C. R. Goudge will conduct the evening service at Kuripuni,
