LARGE ENTRIES THIS WEEK AT FEILDING IMPROVED PRICES FOR MOST LINES. GOOD CLEARANCE EFFECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, May 2. The absence of any sale at Feilding last week resulted in large entries today, and good clearances resulted in all'sections. Most lines sold at improved prices. Fat sheep: Mutton was in heavy supply, with the ewe section being the heaviest for some time. Prices were good generally and a fairly complete clearance was effected. Extra prime ewes made 14s to 16s Id; second grade Us lOd to 13s; others, 6s lOd tc Ils; prime maiden ewes, 20s lOd to 21s lOd; extra prime lambs, 24s 7d to 26s 7d;, prime, 20s 4d to 22s l’0d; unfinished, 16s lOd to 19s Id; extra prime wethers, 23s 4d to 24s lOd; prime, 21s to 22s 4d; unfinished, 17s lOd to 22s lOd. Store sheey: Lamb values held firm, and there was almost a total clearance. Good-quality young ewes also sold well. Best wether lambs made 14s to 15s 7d; second quality, 12s 6d to 13s lOd; good ewe lambs, 23s 6d to 24s 6d; smaller, 20s to 22s 4d; others from 17s; black face lambs, 15s to 17s; twotooth wethers, 18s; two-tooth ewes, 27s to 28s Id; four and six-tooth ewes, 15s; four and five-year ewes, 10s lOd; fiveyear ewes, Bs. Store cattle: A heavy penning of station cattle was offered, prices showing the market to be comparatively recovered. Practically all the stock was cleared under the hammer. Forward fqur to five-year A.A. bullocks made £9 Is; good weights, £8 to £8 17s; others, £7 15s to £7 18s; good two to three-year A. A. steers, £6 12s to £7 6s; lighter, £6 to £6 10s; best 20-month A.A. steers, £6 to £6 11s; smaller, £5 to £5 18s; 20-month Hereford steers, £5 4s to £6 8s; two-year A.A. heifers, £3 ss; yearling Jersey heifers, £5 3s 6d; yearling Jersey steers. £1 to £2 iBs 6d; works cows, to £3 17s 6d. Fat cattle; Beef also met with a ready sale, despite a heavy supply. Light prime heifers made £5 17s 6d to £6 17s 6d; others, £4 17s 6d to £5 12s 6d; light prime ox, £8 17s 6d; light prime cows, £5 12s 6d to £6 17s 6d. Dairy cattle: A few head of milkers changed hands at good prices. Springing heifers made £7 to £8; heifers in milk, £8; springing cows, £9. Pigs: Late rates were paid for all classes of pigs. Small weaners made 5s 6d to 9s; slips, 12s to 16s 6d; stores, 20s to 255; sows, £2 to £2 10s; sow and litter, £3 7s 6d. Poultry prices arc as follows: Hens Is 5d to 2s lid; pullets, 6s 3d; cockerels. Is 3d to 4s sd; ducks, 2s 3d to 3s.

CARTERTON SALE Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:--A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at the Carterton sale yesterday and was offered to a large attendance. Prices were well up to late rates and a total clearance was effected. Prices were: Sheep: Fat lambs, 19s, 21s 3d, 22s lOd, 23s 4d to 255; fat ewes, to 11s; fat wethers. 21s 3d to 225; fat b.f’s, 19s 4d to 20s 9d; light fat ewes, to 8s lOd; b;f. lambs, 14s Id, 14s 9d, 15s 3d, 16s 3d to 16s 6d; w.w. lambs, to 17s 6d; 2 and 4-th. wethers, 18s to 21s; small b.f. lambs. 9s 7d, 10s 6d to 12s 3d; small wether lambs, to 9s Id.
