Mr and Mrs H. D. Reid and Mrs H. Butcher, are visiting Auckland. Mrs M. A. Tildesley. Essex Street, has returned home after visiting her daughter, Mrs J. F. Pointon, Christchurch. Looking hale and hearty in spite of the fact that she was still confined to her bed by a doctor's orders, after a recent illness, Mrs Ann Hubbard, Waimate, celebrated her 102nd birthday on Wednesday. Mrs Hubbard is a -wellknown figure in Waimate, having lived in the same cottage in Princess Street for some 60 years. She was born in Foulsham. England, in 1838, and with her husband, Mr George Hubbard, and six children, arrived in New Zealand in October. 1874, landing at Timaru in surf boats.
