» CONFERENCE OF WAIRARAPA FEDERATION SALE OF SECOND-HAND BEDDING. SUPERVISION RECOMMENDED. The annual conference of the Wairarapa Federation of Women’s Institutes was concluded in Masterton yesterday afternoon. The president, Mrs F. W. Joblin, presided over an attendance representative of all institutes in the Wairarapa. Mrs A. Keir gave an interesting account of the recent. Dominion conference, for which she was accorded a vote of thanks. The retiring president, Mrs Joblin, expressed her thanks for the work of the committee and the secretary, Mrs G. G. Dagg, during her term of office. Several delegates made appreciative reference to the services given by Mrs Joblin. The following remit was passed: “That this Federation makes a strong recommendation to the Dominion executive to urge the Government, through the Health Department to ob-' serve a stricter supervsion over second-hand bedding offered for sale at auction sales or sold through the medium of auction marts.” An address on the work of the Women’s War Auxiliary was given by Miss A. Kane, Dominion president. A report of Miss Kane’s address appears elsewhere in this issue. Votes of thanks were passed to the hotsess Institute (Tinui), Mrs Beaven (pianiste), Misses Kane and Wolters and Mrs Joblin. Afternoon tea was served.
